If the Air Force doesn't need you, they will drop you in a New York minute. You have to watch your back. Your career is your own and you need to be thinking about the gamesmanship to make rank (which sometimes conflicts with desires to serve in certain capacities). You have to hit their "gates" at the prescribed time or you will be just off promotion "glide slope." DEI will be spelled DIE if we don't learn the lesson that the Air Force's job is NOT to be a "social experiment."
