Pros

The US Air Force is a great opportunity to serve the country, travel in the United States, possessions, and other countries, experience different cultures, get a and complete education or degree, start a career and obtain high technology training, raise and support a family in a secure environment, a stable and secure job, opportunity for growth, promotion, and participate in community activities, do volunteer work. There is a well established training, career path, and professional military education to obtain commensurate skills and advancement. How many civilian companies give 30 days of leave/vacation per year? There are many benefits such as exchange and commissary privileges, medical/dental and life insurance, subsistence, cost of living, and housing allowances, retirement pay after only 20 years of active duty service.

Cons

There are deployment assignment in dangerous areas and can be expected once or twice per tour, constant relocation in 3-4 years, occasional separation with family or loved ones, and when required, some sacrifices even giving up your life to defend the country. You can get disabled or killed in conflicts or wars.

Pros

Teaches you a trade while paying you. Social appreciation. Purpose. If you have no idea what you want to do with your life especially as far as a career goes, run to a recruiter. Regardless of whereever you come from a military career is your stepping stone into middle class and up living and career opportunity.

Cons

Every extra dollar you attempt to make beyond your rank will require more work than you will be paid to do. The real payoff monetarily you get from competing in the military will come in to play during your post life. Confidence, courage, accountability, etc are not standard attributes in people at all.
