Pros

•You get free makeup •You work in a virtual makeup box of products •Working with people and seeing different techniques to apply product •Creating a network of friends that can last a lifetime (be it from coworkers or outside brand representatives that come visit the store)

Cons

•The pay. You are going to get less than ANY OTHER makeup retailer out there. They tell you it's "competitive" but it's less than McDonalds •Due to the recent economic crisis, hours get cut daily. You could end up with no pay and barely any hours and you aren't allowed to say anything about it. If you do, you are pulled into a meeting with the management and treated rudely. •There tends to be different rules for different staff. Sally could be working there for 6 months but if she's well liked by everyone then she can get away with more than others •The company is too top heavy. A lot of CEOs who aren't aware of the overall goal of the company are refusing to look at the big picture. They seem to believe the company is something it is not

Pros

+ monthly training gratis + brand and product training + exposure to working with luxury brands + technology device supplements role

Cons

- unstable hours / unstable income - part-time employee classification has a wide weekly hourly gap (e.g., 15-29 weekly hours) and the availability expectation is that of a full-time (e.g., required to be open 4-5 a week, open to close) - minimal career growth if wanting to become full-time within the same store
