Pros

Salary and gratis. They have to pay that much for people to actually work here.

Cons

There is no work-life balance. The merchandising department where I worked for almost a decade was full of incompetent people. The supply chain area is a complete mess - to the systems, data collecting, to the strength of the work force. So much politics and favoritism at play here. There is a lot of whispering and unnecessary gossip. There is always too much work to do, so you'd better have experience because they can barely provide sufficient training for newcomers and expect them to hit the ground running on day 1. STAY AWAY for your sanity!!

Cons

- unstable hours / unstable income - part-time employee classification has a wide weekly hourly gap (e.g., 15-29 weekly hours) and the availability expectation is that of a full-time (e.g., required to be open 4-5 a week, open to close) - minimal career growth if wanting to become full-time within the same store
