Pros

They offer good discounts on different things like travel, entertainment, home goods...Their stock options and retirement benefits. Good food options.

Cons

Pharmacy managers are now obligated to give presentations to our supervisors, outline and everything, on our department. We are given NO LUNCH BREAKS and are looked down upon when we are found sitting for a few minutes. We are now in flu shot season so we have to take time out of busy schedule to accommodate and promote this. Also, the hours for technicians have been drastically reduced as the workload has increased. Pharmacists in general are no longer in high demand and here in South Florida you can be easily replaced. That means you are not valuable to the company and they can afford to treat you unfairly. You didn't meet flushot quota? No raise for you. Can't work on every report right away? No raise. Go over on non-rph hours? Don't even think about it. We get visits from corporate every month-Hot Topics they call it. They stay in your store for about 2 hours asking you the dumbest questions and of course wasting your valuable time. They have phone tree messages for every email they send now...just in case you haven't read your email in the last hour. They also have a new clinic program where, of course, you have to come in about an hour early to test patients for diabetes and cholesterol. This too has a quota. Pharmacy has become such a disgustingly competitive business. In general, I feel like I'm wasting my time with this company.

Pros

Good compensation including not just standard pay, but also end of year bonus 80 hours for hourly associates, 8% of your annual earnings granted to you in free company stock thru which quarterly dividends are paid, ok 401k, and gift card and other associate coupons. Good stability and growth. Good company culture.

Cons

Can be slow and resistant to change. Uses some antiquated systems and software that should have been replaced years ago. Does some things that don't make sense. Some managers can be good, while others not very good. Although these cons may be true for a lot of companies. All roads eventually lead to Lakeland where they are headquartered. Geography can be a big one if you are not a Florida native. If you don't want to live in Florida for some legitimate reasons, there can be limited job options in other states, especially if you aren't interested in retail or warehouse jobs. Standard retail negatives about not having a lot of holidays off.
