Pros
The company has an excellent product portfolio. There is an ever expanding set of products to sell. Oracle has one of the highest base pay and sales commission plans in the software industry. Overall, the people are very good, but very stressed as well. There is a decent amount of opportunity to advance your knowledge of Oracle through internal training. Oracle has one of the most liberal expense policies I have ever seen. If it remotely ties to closing new business, it is expected that it will be paid for by the company. They also provide a monthly car allowance that is well above average.
Cons
The biggest negative in working for Oracle is the lack of work/life balance. The mentality in the sales organization is win at all costs. If you are a total type A, this is the place for you. I was asked to do things to get commitments from customers that I was not too comfortable with (like waiting outside of people's offices until they leave for the day). The way that quota is distributed is also a little odd...instead of basing the growth objective on some reality, like the previous year's revenue, the region's quota is equally divided among reps with no consideration for territory, opps, etc.
