Sell a strategic role but my experience was that I had no strategic decision making control, many egos who want to 'respectfully' shout at each other to try and make a presence for themself in the company which seems to be what they encourage - bad decisions based upon egos wanting to own control of areas - a new CEO through any sort of direction in the air. I asked for feedback a lot so I could get clarity of what was not OK - this was non-existent until the very end.
