Pros
- LV is truly the best "school" you can attend for retail operations, it's great training that will serve you well in future roles (both the skills and the brand recognition on your CV) - Dynamic, international colleagues - Good benefits, including employee sales
Cons
- With few exceptions, most of the managers have very poor management skills. It is a highly political environment, and those who are best able to "manage up" and create a network for themselves are the only ones who get promoted. Limited visibility of HQ opportunities for retail employees, and if your boss doesn't support you you go nowhere. - Limited opportunities for (french-speaking) foreigners in France. Over the course of 4 years and over 10 changes of store directors in Paris stores, not once was a non French-born person promoted to Store Director despite about half the sales managers being foreigners and the clientele being majority foreign. - mobilities to new roles can take over 1yr with little visibility - 20% of total annual compensation is in the form of profit sharing, which greatly lowers your monthly salary and increases your income taxes if you choose to access the profit sharing money.
