- Information has become siloed due to too much hierarchical structure. - People on the ground with years of experience are not asked for their input when projects are planned, resulting in the same mistakes constantly being made year after year. - A lot of decisions are based on workplace politics, rather than what’s best for the customer and business. - Third party companies are hired to plan projects that those internally have more knowledge about. These companies cost a fair amount of money, money that could be better spent rewarding and motivating internal staff. - Most of management specifically in this team aren’t proactive in learning the job they manage. - Those raising concerns or alternative ideas (not yes people) are seen as trouble makers. - The known issue with talent retention is spun into a narrative of positive career progression, when in fact management have in no way helped staff progress anywhere, and instead in some cases demotivated and disrespected their staff to the point they have no other choice but to find another job.
