Pros

Most of the employees are so talented and work very hard to delivery good value adding work. This is a huge pro as this is why BB is able to survive right now as it is truly despite the wrongdoings of the leadership team.

Cons

As the title suggest working at Brilliant Basics has been the biggest disappointment of my career. The reason for this is that the CEO/Founder (AV) and some of the leadership team are just sales people who have no interest in doing actual good work for their clients, this leadership seems to care only about hitting revenue targets. This has a direct result on the employees as with such a focus there is an immense pressure from the top level (AV) all the way down to making sure that this target is hit. This has resulted in a toxic work environment where people who have no place being on this leadership team (no leadership skills) are promoted to it anyway as they are also good salesmen and are able to convince clients to spend their money with BB. This has resulted in an incredibly quiet, demotivated and frustrated office environment (despite the investment into the new office which is really just to show off to clients..) where requests for development, training or anything at all that does not directly lead to increased revenue are ignored. This month (December 2019) alone so many people have left of a mid-senior level (15% of the workforce) because they realise that despite trying their best (and these people are incredibly gifted!) for the the last year there is no willingness of the management team to listen. BB is able to survive right now DESPITE the leadership team. We all know revenue is important but to not even achieve basis employee satisfaction is embarrassing to say the least. Compensation and benefits are not on par with competitors in London so if everything else is rotten as it is people will keep jumping ship.

Pros

Job stability – Infosys is known for long-term employment and steady projects. Strong brand value – Having Infosys on your resume adds credibility and global recognition. Good learning opportunities – Access to internal learning platforms, certifications, and training programs (especially for freshers). Global exposure – Opportunities to work with international clients and global delivery teams. Structured processes – Well-defined policies, documentation, and governance. Work-life balance (project dependent) – Many teams offer reasonable working hours. Employee benefits – Health insurance, paid leaves, and wellness initiatives. Safe and inclusive workplace – Strong focus on ethics, compliance, and diversity.

Cons

Salary growth can be slow – Compensation increments may be lower compared to market standards. Limited flexibility in role changes – Internal mobility and project switches can take time. Bureaucratic processes – Decision-making can be slow due to multiple approval layers. Project allocation delays – Bench time and delayed onboarding to projects can happen. Variable learning exposure – Skill growth depends heavily on the project assigned. Less innovation in some teams – Certain projects may use legacy technologies. Onsite opportunities are limited – Compared to earlier years, onsite roles are fewer. Performance appraisal transparency – Rating systems may feel rigid or unclear.
