Pros

Infosys' brand recognition and might provide a good deal an edge in the industry. The client base is to die for (if you get to work on one, that is). There's a great camaraderie among peer groups, they tend to help each other whenever they can. Knowledge sharing within groups is excellent and the knowledge sites/locations carry good amount of reading study materials. Internal trainings (and the external arranged ones) are really good. All the campus are extremely well maintained which attracts lot many people. Canteen and foods are decent enough. For people on bench, there are avenues to indulge in like well stocked libraries, cultural shows , excercise areas, sports events.

Cons

Compensation packages are very poor compared to peers in the industry. There are no clear growth plans or career opportunities. Once candidate is Interviewed and selected, may be put into any business unit irrespective of the past experience (happped with me, 10 yrs exp). Some of the project / units are very top heavy hence very difficult to move up the ladder - its easier to move lateraly. If we want to change to another business unit, there are no clear process around the same, one has to rely on old contacts. At times, it feels Infosys has become an elephant of a company and moves very slowly where decision making is concerned.

Pros

Legitimate source of gainful project-based tech employment. Handles the headaches of looking for tech work and verifying your talent & legitimacy as a professional in the field, which is especially valuable in the age of AI. Additionally, they offer internal training resources to help ensure your skills are up to date with the current tech landscape.

Cons

Pay can be significantly lower than might be expected for tech work at higher levels, as their business model is as a staffing company, garnishing part of the wage paid by project clients as part of your employment. It's definitely very livable payment in most places, but it doesn't approach senior or even mid-level pay offered by many other US-operating employers in the tech space. This company has also been operating on slow or outdated systems, which can be frustrating for the remote contact of many of its employees, but Infosys has been actively updating these systems over time. Additionally, work conditions will be set at the behest of clients. Infosys is your pipeline to client projects, not often the host of projects themselves, so working conditions & expectations can vary by client.
