Working for Hitachi has been a dispiriting experience during which, in spite of continually being told that we're all in it together, I personally have struggled to go in to work every day without feeling an overwhelming urge to throw myself out of the nearest window by around 4pm as I am continually overstretched and demoralised.
I feel any likelihood of my being treated with a modicum of anything even vaguely close to the company value of respect moving further and further away as I am treated, not like someone with many years experience, but instead like a cross between a waiter and office junior who's primary job is to be neither seen nor heard.
The staff is comprised of a large contingent of people who are overpaid and significantly under qualified to be employed in the roles they are in but are allowed to rule the roost based on length of service alone. So any change will be impossible to implement... if you have any lofty ideas of doing this, you should probably keep walking.
If you are one of the MD's favourites though you'll get a pass on everything and will love every minute there
