Pros
GE is a good, caring company that tries to do things the right way. A lot of very talented people. Great learning environment. And today, with the need to revamp the world's energy delivery systems, it's an important place to work.
Cons
The matrix structure just does not work for all parts of the business. Organizational structures and processes that were designed for industrial businesses are not very effective for areas where agility and creativity are key (e.g., software), so there's a lot of frustration with the pace at which things get done.
