Pros

So far Sykes has been a great opportunity. I am disabled so I need to be able to work from home. The interview process was seamless and there was plenty of communication regarding new hire orientation and training. The clients serviced are top companies/brands, and for someone like me studying to be a Certified Pharmacy Technician, the client I'm on will be great for my resume for future employment elsewhere. The trainers are kind and have no problem slowing down or repeating themselves when you've misunderstood something or need a little extra clarity. I truly believe, like any job, that your experience will be based on your own efforts.

Cons

Compensation could definitely be better. The positions tend to range from $14-17 hourly, which in this day and age, does not cut it (use this opportunity as a stepping stone). Some of your fellow new-hires will make me want to pull your hair out. The lack of professionalism and computer skills that some of them have is....annoying. Thankfully you're only in training with them for a few weeks - get through that and you'll be fine. Hours aren't the best starting out, but after you've been through for a few months you can change your schedule.

Pros

Some level of job security. You know exactly what you're doing because it's a call center. Different client projects that you could apply to be part of. Located in Orem by the mall. Decent pay ($25 an hour... for now).

Cons

You can't have anything on the call floor depending on the client (I support Intuit, so there are no phones, paper, pencils, books... nothing). The benefits are atrocious. PTO doesn't start until after 6 months. Company politics and favorites exist here. I'd say about 30% of calls get transferred to us from other departments (Payroll, Payments, Desktop, Saves, Sales, pretty much everyone) that should not have been transferred and could have been solved without us. They're going to hire more account resolution specialists soon after so many agents left, and they're starting their pay at $20 an hour.... so just think about what means for us. You get one occurrence per day you are absent even if you call in sick. I think 10 is the limit.
