Pros

Technically easy money; you don't need any qualifications, or special skills beyond thick skin and stamina. Really friendly staff. On the surface a very fun sort of place - pool table, dressing up, free fruit etc. Good promotion prospects I think; if you're one of the few who lasts longer than a few months, you're considered an old times and ripe for promotion.

Cons

It's soul destroying. Within my first week of training it was clear that only the naive, the desperate or the neurotic choose to stay. The recruiters lie through their teeth to get you to sign up. Then the trainers lie through their teeth to get you not to quit. Insane micromanagement; if you take more than 60 seconds to write your notes you get a phone call to ask why. No attempt to care for workers. Horrendous shift patterns regardless of your needs or requests, no eye test vouchers despite it being a legal requirement, filthy keyboards headphones and mice that all workers have to share, cramped and noisy environment.

Pros

Work at home is the only pro

Cons

The pay, the people do not want to help when needed when you have qu4stions, customers are rude and hateful, trainers do not train very well at all, they do not communicate very well with you. Training is terrible. Be prepared to be thrown to the phones the second week of training. This job is mentally draining.
