Pros

A huge company with thousands of skilled and knowledgeable people across the globe. Supports staff moving between departments to gain wide experience. Generally good working conditions and benefits.

Cons

Constant re-organisation justified by strategy but often driven by French politics. Lack of focus on profits. Failure to realize that top heavy Corporate overheads can no longer be supported. Huge staff cuts needed but will not be delivered. Careers made through "patronage" not through merit.

Pros

Great PTO benefits, very flexible.

Cons

There are certainly favorites among leadership. If you are on management's good side, you may see opportunities that others won't. Most internal promotions are decided before the job even posts, they just have to go through the formalities of posting/interviewing.
