Pros

You are able to build good working relationships with your peer store managers

Cons

There is NO work/life balance despite what they say. Remember, most of their recruiters work from home and none have not worked as a store manager. Advancement opportunities are for the select political few. The hour allowance for their stores will require you to be alone in the building from time to time. You will likely always be short hourly associates because of the less than industry average they pay them. Guess who will have to fill in the gap. That’s right, You.

Pros

The job itself is easy. The cash register, stocking (especially the totes and dry truck) and cleaning are so simple however there are certain things that make it difficult, although the work itself is not (under the right circumstances.)

Cons

They never have enough people on shift so it’s always difficult to get things done. It seems like all the managers I know from the store I worked at and the surrounding ones are all so deep into drama it made me wonder if I was back in high school. Dry truck always seems to bring far too much and the stores are so little that overstock is a huge issue here. The reason I ultimately left was due to severe mistreatment and some safety concerns I had regarding some past experiences. I am very glad I left and I would not ever go back.
