Pros
My only positive feedback is : Good work/life balance(but this is only because of the french laws) , opportunities to learn and get certified. My review is for the Montpellier site only, I heard better things about any other site.
Cons
The salary is less than the minimum necessary for living. I found this unbelievable as an IT personnel. I had to face the fact that a tinkerer with 8 years of school + professional qualification, earns more than an IT enterprise support with 16+ years of education. There are huuuuuge salary differences within the same team. I was on the low end and the high end had 20% more and he/she was doing half of my workload. Managers can simply just block any internal job application of yours, and afterwards they can just simply decide to not to give you any salary raise. Moreover, they will even tell you that you are going to be impacted repeatedly. The environment is not performance based, it is "who likes who" based - e.g. do not even dream of a promotion if you just work hard and don't have relatives in the management. When a job is published and even before, the hiring manager already knows who will get the job. I didn' even left my job and they already knew who they will hire, so people applying normally are just given false hopes and they waste their time. Dell Montpellier is a "family business", you better be part of the "family" if you have long term plans. Another chance of getting a promotion is if you do half of your superior's job. Or go to coffee and do sports with a lot of managers etc. Ya know the drill, aye ? Foreigners are mislead and disrespected. The managers (wannabees) never ever have read the french labour laws. People doing sports of sueing companies : Dell Montpellier is a goldmine for you. Just try to get in and within 1-2 years you will be surely given a good reason. The environment is toxic, a lot of frustrated and underqualified persons are working at Dell Montpellier. This, combined with the low salary, will "boost" down your morale to the bottom of the Marianna trench. It is very hard to come up from there.
