Pros

Good pay for the effort of work. Very laid back work place. I probably work 25 hours a week and spend the rest of the week learning.

Cons

As a software company Dell is unable to innovate because IT department heads are always fighting each other. In the time I've been here I've seen new ideas and innovation squashed by micro managers and inter-departmental disputes. Managers tend to protect their friends and have normalized a very aggressive, non-collaborative behavior. There is an enormous drive to make the boss happy so work is constantly being re-prioritized to meet the whims of "leadership" Overall pathological organizational culture. Almost no one can offer or take constructive feedback because any honesty would spoil their reputation among their peers. Interpersonal issues that could be avoided by a little honesty and feedback often degrade into overtly heated arguments or passive aggressive scheming. I've personally witnessed at least 3 of my co-workers throw each other under the bus to "get ahead."

Pros

The people are the best part of this job. I have met so many amazing people in this role. Even some I would consider life long friends. I think the experience gained from this job has also been useful for any sales role you may need for any future endeavors in sales or the tech industry.

Cons

Upper management has made many changes to the compensation and the metrics which has for sure effected employee satisfaction. Turnover rate is insane as there’s a new hire class literally every month. Dell itself is running out of room and they are not making any new teams for the new hire classes which has left more tenured reps in a vulnerable position.
