Management won't listen, they will abuse you and ignore your requirements. The companies internal policies are often based on your race and whether or not you have a degree (even if your degree is irrelevant to the position). So for example- A white British male with no degree working in the UK would have very little chance of progression regardless of how good you are. The 'own' branded stock is often in poor condition and cheaply made. Spare parts for gym equipment, bikes, etc is hard to come by and you'll be the one getting the blame.
