Top talent is avoiding the 3 day office policy - Software Engineer Checkout.com Employee Review

Pros

Good compensation and free lunches

Cons

Everyone can see the value in being together, but the office policy is making it almost impossible to attract top talent, forcing departments to instead lower the bar to build the numbers. When we don't lower the bar, we waste our resources attempting to hire and becoming stuck in the vicious cycle. This simple fundamental flaw is so universally accepted, it's genuinely quite obnoxious that senior management continue to ignore it.

Pros

Good salary, thats about it

Cons

Toxic work culture, they want you to work from 6 am to 9pm. If you do not speak french or are not french you will feel like an outsider. Favoritism is big here, manager have their favorites and will feed them inbounds. Very hard to get approval to go to conferences, and there is no ROI, longer reps hold on to bigger name merchants for years even though they are not having any impact, and no one does anything about it.
