The culture in IT & Operations is deeply unpleasant. The approach in this area has resulted in a blame culture, unrealistic expectations of what can be achieved and nobody willing to make decisions without checking first. There is no empowerment, even with the most senior people. There is also a real lack of experience (working outside the company) in the leadership of IT and therefore, little understanding of the challenges faced by the various teams and many teams which are being reduced even further. A lot of good people have left or have been pushed out because they don't agree with the way things are run. Too many people have been at the same company for all their career, so there is little movement or opportunity to progress. Very London focussed approach
