Pros
The work life balance - at least in our organization - is outstanding. They honor my need to support my children in their school and athletic functions. The planning and overall project governance is lacking and seems to be knee jerk - when it comes to implementing new processes and methods. Most are attempted while still expecting outstanding project results. Relationships are big at AXP. The encourage work with groups outside our organization and provide access to training and certification resources as needed. Most of the people are technically proficient and don't hesitate to share valuable information or support your project needs upon request.
Cons
Good ole' boy network alive and well, especially with some of the organizations run by non-US leaders. Planning is not intelligently carried out. It is not really executed until January and then projects don't get fully up and running until February or March - and then the network freeze at the end of the year make November and December very unproductive as well.
