Pros

Exposure to new/emerging methodologies, technology and ideas regularly Generally, great people in the trenches great branding and name recognition Any similar job will be a breeze after working for this company (Trial by fire?)

Cons

- No respect/career path for experienced hires, but your abilities will be used to the greatest extent with no recognition; Why the double standard? You don't survive for long if you are not good; - No reward system worth speaking of. - Negative feedback only. If you accomplish 99 of a hundred tasks (an oppressive number) as required, you will only get feedback on that one outstanding task unless you know the right people; - Extremely political, promotions based on who you know and a 'what have you done for me lately' mentality, which explains why more than a few of the managers are incompetent; - work.life balance is a core value on paper only; - laddering process used to determine salary increases and promotions work against the employee who changes career path since no matter how well you perform in your new role, the general consensus is that you can not be ranked higher than a barely functioning employee who has been in the role longer; Note that there is no transition period - you are just as likely to be given the same type opf assignment as that experienced employee with little support from mgt. - tendency to 'shoot self in the foot' by loading projects with new hires resulting in higher profit margin but struggling project, which in turn will (unfairly) affect the next performance evaluation of all involved. - Unable to determine role of HR. I think their job description requires that they back up the SMs and SEs so don't waste your time; - Burn-out pending

Pros

Hands down the best company I've worked for. It's fast-paced, but Accenture genuinely empowers its people rather than micromanaging them. The benefits are a real priority — they invest in your physical and mental health, offer a generous amount of PTO, and there are legitimate opportunities for promotion if you put in the work. If you're someone who gets bored easily in a role, this is one of the few places where you can stay with the same company and reinvent your career multiple times. The investment in training and upskilling is heavy and ongoing. And the culture around authenticity is real, not just a poster in the break room — especially in the neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ communities, you're encouraged to bring your whole self to work and be comfortable being you.

Cons

This is not the place for you if you don't like change. Pivoting is constant, and keeping up with the latest industry trends can be uncomfortable at times. The sheer size of the organization means it can be hard to find the information you need, and learning the internal infrastructure takes a while. You'll also run into some negativity from folks during tough stretches — but honestly, if you're coming from a turbulent work history elsewhere, you'll recognize that this is much better than most.

Pros

There are a lot of pros working for Accenutre. They have great career opportunities, a never ending supply of interesting work, competitive compensation, wonderful benefits, great people, wonderful training programs, a tremendous number of brilliant professionals in their fields ready to help, and great core values.

Cons

This is not an opportunity for those that do not want to work. At Accenture everyone has a load of work to do and often times under very tight customer time lines. It is a challenge that I enjoy but many might find it stressful.
