Pros

Auto1 is extremely multi-cultural and tolerant. They are also hiring like crazy and are not very particular, so if you're a programmer and are desperate...

Cons

If i had a penny for every time a discussion in Auto1 ended with 'it's not my/your job', i wouldn't have to work for Auto1. A good technical argument would be 'but this is not the pattern'. I thought these kind of things were a myth, but Auto1 is truly where developers go to die. Everyone is constantly disgruntled and hates everyone else, the company actively discourages free thought in favor of process, and the experience can be summarily expressed by searching online for "the Stanley parable". They want to be a tech company, but they just don't get it. Here's a fun example; Auto1 wants to be a startup, and startups have a beer-fridge - so Auto1 has a beer fridge - but they don't get it, and they don't want people drinking on the job, so the beer fridge is opened on Fridays at 17:00 and you'll be getting an automated Slack message saying that you're now permitted to drink.

Pros

I have to put 20 words in this box, so I'm just gonna keep typing until I get a green check mark... there we go. :)

Cons

Worked as an outside rep. I ended up paying them to work here with all of the driving I had to do. Very little consistency with what you're asked to do. This company burns business relationships with dealers left and right. If you're an inside sales rep, expect a lot of people hanging up bc at this point most dealers already know this place doesn't live up to its word as far as the condition of the cars you sell, or the arbitration policy.
