Pros
Many intelligent people around, mostly interesting technology, good equipment. HR is quite helpful. Some people are really top-of-the line with technologies. I learn all the time from them. Some perks
Cons
- The CTO is not really managing. The product team and IT directors run the show. - The directors of IT, like all programmers, have a high turnover rate. They are routinely subject to mobbing by executive management. - When one talks to people in other departments (e.g., marketing) , they are also mobbed, bossed and micro-managed by the company's executives. - most people are paid WELL below market. Most do not get stock options.
