      Epam: BY vs RU

      Pros

      Belarus - global, system approach, introduce new programs for employee attraction and retention all the time; creative, able to invest in employees.

      Cons

      RU: management not able to focus either on strategy or on employee needs, very tough on spending money BY: all the cons of the really large company, some might say - too much of routine after a while

      Pros

      Company carries about it's employees (so once your project is over you can easily find something else inside the company) Good salary. Good options for growing (as specialist), that includes performance reviews, IT events (like conferences, presentations and meetings).

      Cons

      Unfortunately, processing within project, relation between developer->manager, depends on people, so will vary between projects. Personally, I was involved in two project: the first one (bank account) had perfect (almost ideal) processes, technology overview (and changing them all the time). However, on the second no processes, old technologies.

      Pros

      Working at EPAM allows access to top industry clients, ability to contribute to their technological advances. EPAM also allows bright people work at growing their potential, there are travel and relocation opportunities.

      Cons

      EPAM management is working on bringing people from different parts of the organization together more frequently through online workshops and meetings but due to the distributed nature of the work environment, it is often possible that people can feel isolated if they are working strictly in onsite assignment with limited interactions with the rest of the organization.
