Pros

The people and the mission to make a more sustainable world. That's it. The only reason people stay is because you work with some of the best, talented, and courteous colleagues. It's a great culture to be a part of. The second reason is the ability to influence and help reduce a corporation's carbon footprint. The bonus to working at Engie Impact is that you are part of a larger organization, Engie Group, that has a greater global impact on this mission.

Cons

To say the company is disfunctional is an understatement. Let's start with Leadership as the number one reason. The CEO is as hands-off as they come. You rarely hear from him and when you do there is nothing motivating about his speeches. The next level down doesn't know how to lead or communicate a proper strategy. Mid-level management is then left to create their own strategies after not getting direction from C-level execs. Each of the divisions then creates their own goals as they fend for themselves, instead of working to align with the overall mission across the org. There is too much work for the number of employees to make a big impact. Then you have long-tenured employees leaving for higher pay, while leadership does nothing to keep those that remain, creating a high attrition rate. Not to mention the most recent layoff is creating heavier workloads and an even greater morale issue for those left behind. The company tends to restructure every year so you never feel stable.

Pros

Some of the leaders are amazing, but they are all planning to leave in the near future.

Cons

-Thrown to the wolves with no support or training and then when you make a mistake you are gaslighted to think it was your fault when in reality, no training means trial and error so if you want people to succeed right away… train them. -HR is extremely incapable of answering basic questions about the company, benefits, resources and they spin in circles trying to find someone with the answers. -Be prepared to be over worked. There is not enough staff left to do the work since the company doesn’t pay well and has ran people out with their toxic culture. They will tell you they are fixing things but in reality they do not have the right communication, leaders, resources to make any real progress. You will work harder than if you operated your own startup. -Womens pay and title is not anywhere near in line with what the men at this company are making. Very few of their “diverse” hires are in Sr. Management. They preach DEi but they there is so much bias happening it’s not even quantifiable.
