Pros

Pretty much everyone who works there is nice and there is a genuine positive attitude towards caring for its staff. Salary's are good but these days you can forget about getting a pay rise whilst staying in the same job.

Cons

I've been there over a decade now and there's a re-org every 2 years, for me its been 50/50 whether I'd have to apply for my job again. Every second re-org is a massive one, my last smaller re-org hadn't event finished before the current bigger one kicked off. One of the main departments has just reduced by a third and 20% of the remaining jobs are now listed as a new entry level job. Its starting to feel very much like a dying business. I've had a question mark over my job for the best part of a year now. Its horrid. EDF used to feel more like a family but now its soulless. Cost of living increases are better than nothing but you'll be lucky to get over 0.5%

Pros

Nice management and colleagues Net zero ambition which the company really does seem to care about Exciting nuclear new build projects

Cons

Feels like going back in time 10 years Dated systems and processes Archaic IT equipment Very old school in terms of hierarchy and culture, senior managers will go through their direct managers to pass on message, instead of just picking up phone to you. Claims to be flexible with working hours, but frowned upon if you show as away too often. Very “yes man” culture, pushing back is frowned upon.

Pros

- The company continuously assesses its state, identifies flaws, and tries to improve. - The company continuously aligns its strategy with the market, opening up innovative pathways to participate in the green economy. - Some say the best thing about EDF Renewables is the people. This also matches my experience. Colleagues across the board were friendly, motivated, and smart. - The company takes its core values very seriously and stands behind them. This integrity is a solid foundation for the company's great culture. - Senior management communicates openly and listens to employees. - The company supports employee efforts around diversity and inclusion. - Strong international financial backing at medium company size, affording the company to focus resources on only the best opportunities, reducing overall volatility and stress for employees. - Generous benefits package

Cons

- No formal professional development path for technical careers, ultimately leaving many technical folks on the sidelines for promotion, recognition, and professional growth. - Management capability of managers across organization varies widely - great in some groups, not great in others.
