Pros

Nice environment. They try to make it fun. The Giveaways are nice. Fun coworkers.

Cons

Management tries to fool employees into thinking that they are helping customers get vehicles when in reality they really want everyone to lie as close as they possibly can get a way with to lure customers in. For example: "Oh you make $733 a month? No problem, come in and we'll help you out"....knowing damn well that they will probably need a co-signer and even when they say they don't have a cosigner they encourage employees to have them to come in anyway. As far as how income is made you get a base salary between $28,000 to $32,000 each year. On top of that, it is a tiered bonus structure.... the way things are set up is that it is based off of people who come into the dealership and get their credit ran.... however you have no control over seeing who actually came in because there is someone in IT who controls that. This can cause for some confusion because one day your numbers may be higher than the next day and management can't explain why the numbers change per se which is very suspicious. Oh and no one really makes anywhere near the advertised 45 to 65 K each year... maybe about 2 to 5% of the department makes that. You really have to figure out ways to cheat the system to make it work and that was not my style. Management can come off as very delusional and robotic even when they know things are not correct or unethical. When you question or suggest something professionally, you get called negative and a trouble maker. "Be positive" is term loosely thrown around, when management don't even exhibit this themselves It can be high pressure sales environment at times and you have to learn how to budget your income to make things work because you may make okay one month and make nothing the next which can be extremely frustrating. Oh and you may be talking to some of the rudest delusional financially illiterate customers ever.... But you still feel bad because they don't know a lot and they don't know what they're about to get themselves into.

This is a really unfortunate view of your former position at DriveTime. DriveTime believes all people, regardless of their financial situation, deserve the opportunity to own or lease a vehicle and enjoy the normalcy and enjoyment of having their own vehicle. We hope our employees share that same view, in all positions. While we do not advertise the salaries for DriveTime employees, it is possible some employees make less than average, just as common as it is for the top performers to make more than the average. Your attitude, training and dedication to your job is what determines what you get out of it. Thank you for your candid feedback, it has been shared with the leadership teams over IDT and Talent Support and we do take your comments to heart.

Pros

The benefits are pretty good and it's base salary

Cons

My location is unorganized. Poor Commission Structure. Some of the sales advisors are absolutely sleezy employees and will do anything to cheat the system and play with number to make a deal happen, no integrity at all. Some managers know what happens and will turn a blind eye. Some managers and senior SA's are awesome and some are so lazy we have better days when they are not in the store.

The behavior you outlined here is not tolerated at any DriveTime dealership. Please speak with your General Manager ASAP, or call our Speak Up line or Talent Support. We encourage all employees to discuss performance issues in dealerships openly and provide suggestions on how we can improve. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Pros

Great coworkers/ fun work environment / cool building / monthly raffles / good benefits / game room / gym /

Cons

Dealing with the worst customers/ no room to grow/ no raises/ management very disconnected with agents and expects you to lie to customers to bring them in/ calling customers multiply times a day to the point they are wanting to take legal action/ scheduled breaks and will get in trouble if you break anytime other than that/ treats you like a child/ hard to get time off/ promises 65k a year but bonus structure makes it hard to bonus - read the reviews of the company online and really ask yourself if that's who you want to represent
