Pros

i think db is generally a good place to work because the people are nice, good environment and generally a lot of opportunities for growth. Because db is a global company the opportunities for travel is enormous. Many of my colleagues have traveled to Moscow, London, Frankfurt, Sydney and Tokyo. I think compared to its pairs db is truly a global company. The internal training is good as well. There are a lot of classes available to develop your personal brand etc. DB is growing int he US and I think it creates many opportunities to be apart of something big.

Cons

Sometimes in large organizations like this it can be way too bureaucratic. I think there is too much levels and roles, that creates and overly complex environment.

Pros

Large, global bank with good resources. Great place to make connections, enhance network, learn, good rotation system when starting out of school. In US, DB has been investing and growing to upgrade their US reputation to match their reputation in Europe - so that is a good thing to be a part of. Compensation always seemed fair compared to other banks. Generally a friendly place to work. I found most of my coworkers to be helpful and friendly. Also good work/life balance. We obviously worked hard, but had the opportunity to have a personal life. Decent opportunity to move around inside the company.

Cons

Politics. Probably similar to any big company. The bank is based in Germany and investment bank based in London. You definitely get that feeling as the executive management do not make many (in some cases any) appearances in NY.

Pros

An excellent place to launch your career. In today's conditions DB is actually doing alright. Good name, good programs for interns and first year grads. If you received your offer after an internship, you'll be placed in a rotational program for a bit. At the end you'll get to decide what group you liked the most. There are plenty of opportunities to advance to middle management.

Cons

The atmosphere seems too "political". People in middle management are simply stuck in middle management. Everyone in the upper management tier was either someone they brought in from Goldman or some other bank, or they were from the UK. Very few of the Directors and MD's that I've met and worked with rose up through the ranks within DB itself. I don't know if this is true for all divisions. Makes you think you have no future there beyond being a VP.
