      All depends on which Partner you work for

      Pros

      The consulting life style. Loved the hotel points and Airline miles. Also depends on which partner you work for. I have seen some really excellent partners and some really bad ones. There is a lot of focus on networking which is good but at the same time promotes sycophancy. Some times it feels like the bigger the ass you are, the better you do in the firm. Also the feedback process is too one sided and one negative feed back from a manager with whom you did not get along on a project can destabilize your careed in the company.

      Cons

      Hierarchical. Promote ASS KISSING in the guise of networking.

      Compensation and reputation. Very talented workforce.

      Cons

      Lack of administrative structure. You are assigned a counselor but finding the right answers is up to you. There is a lot of time spent trying to track down the right answer to questions.

      Deloitte has unparralled reputation for it's work/life balance lifestyle. Deloitte can pay its employees lower because of its great culture. At Deloitte, people make a concerted effort to make you feel great. They also really believe that you can bring value to the company, even as an intern. Therefore, you will see Deloitte senior managers helping an intern on an engagement. Furthermore, Deloitte is place where people really value fun. They believe that they can work you hard, but also allow you to play hard. At Deloitte, people are valued as people and not as numbers, sales, charts. They respect you.

      Cons

      Deloitte can be a little stuffy sometimes. Also, it can appear as if people aren't as smart as you. Many of these things can be overcome.
