      Michael and his very smart leadership team, countered by a mixed bag of middle tier VPs and their respective 'entourage'

      Pros

      Dell is expanding beyond their traditional businesses, aiming for new market segments that they know and understand very well. Michael is very clued in, and knows where to aim his company.

      Cons

      Aligning old silo'ed teams, with their short-sited rear-guard perspective and quarterly focused outlook around reviews and bonuses, is going to require some tough love. Dell's implementation of stack-ranking does not build a strong company, but instead enforces a bell-curve of mediocraty.

      Generally relaxed yet productive atmosphere, teams are mostly left to do things as they wish as long as results are good.

      Cons

      Silos and lack of empowerment limit and frustrate many great people, especially in centralized corporate functions including HR, IT, Facilities, etc.
