I was working for less than a year at Merrill and I must admit, I have never felt so frustrated in my life. This is the perfect job for people with no aspirations and no willingness to learn or develope a carreer. There is no progression path other than becoming a senior project manager, which does not really change the daily duties. The line management does not listen and does not know how to engage and motivate people. Some of the colleagues are more worried about gossiping around than doing their own job, which creates a toxic atmosphere. For future joiners, if you are told that you can take holidays on bank holidays, it is false.
Regarding the organazitation, it seems that they do not appreciate the people working in there. The benefits are really limited and nothing special. There is an ego culture where team working is far away to be a reality. Promotion opportunities are mostly based on the time you have been working in there and not based on the quality of your job.
Great job for people who suffers under pressure and is not motivated.
