Pros

The pay is decent and you get to work with some smart and interesting folks. Benefits are not too bad either, but I have had better.

Cons

First and foremost, how many managers does a single company need? It's a giant pissing contest with one manager trying to outdo the other! Second and more unforgiving, this company has no loyalty. Been working here for 20 years? Work 12 hour days and on the weekends too? Doesn't matter. I've watched people get laid off or outright fired for no apparent reason. They don't even have the courtesy to let these people leave with their honor intact. It is an unhealthy environment with people questioning DAILY if they will still have their jobs at the end of the day.

Pros

Ability to explore other career opportunities within the company mostly if you know senior folks that like you

Cons

-Cummins really don't have any career culture for young engineers, your growth depends on who you know not how hard you perform. -The older white males still have a small town mentality(if you're a colored person, you definitely know what i mean) -Minorities and foreign employees get kick out first despite performance... Just so you know, these happens every 2yrs. -Columbus is still 10yrs behind civilization despite the diverse population -Over all, you should never work for cummins for more than two-five yrs unless you're WHITE with a small town mentality.

Pros

International travel allowed for development of management skills with non-english speakers. If you are local to Columbus and you have contact with upper management then you have a job for life.

Cons

The company works similar to herding cattle, they bring you in from out of town and work you to death until you no longer provide a benefit to them and then you are out the door.
