      Pros

      Excellent corporate culture and professional environment to work. Solid company with strong product heritage and robust brand name. Good company for young engineers looking for a technical career.

      Cons

      Too many reorganizations and market focus changes. The combination of robust processes with a consensus based decision making culture, results in lack of innovation and advancement of mediocre ideas and products. The organization has lagged, becoming a follower, thus loosing market share to faster and more customer focused competitors.

      Good company except for in times of down turn.

      Pros

      Large company where you can try your hand at several types of work. If you want to move from engineering to try your hand at finance, go ahead! The environment there depends on which group you are in, but I'd say it's a positive environment for the most part.

      Cons

      -If you work at one of the satellite plants you are disconnected from corporate and at a greater risk of loosing your job if the industry takes a down turn. -Cummins uses the old GE model of rating and ranking for assessing performance. The bottom 10% of the work force will not receive an increase in pay every year.
