fun, challenging work, with inconsistent leadership and minimal support
Pros
The work was fun and challenging, the team was amazing to cultivate and it was so rewarding to see group and individual goals come together after putting in hard work. I believe the pay would have been competitive if the schedule was 40 hours. Fun holiday party each year and good benefits including health coverage, dental, vision, 401k, std and ltd, etc. Received bonuses based on location performance a few times per year. Also received small commissions if I sold anything eligible in my day to day activities.
Cons
Huge workload that was wildly unrealistic, a disconnect between senior leaders and the location with how much work there was to complete. My direct manager changed his mind often on what he wanted from me and did not understand the office operations enough to support in a real capacity. Additionally he gave vague feedback that was different each time we met. I worked an average of 65 hrs per week, plus most weekends and had weeks every month where I worked MUCH more than that. Turnover was horrific and the company simply blamed me for failing to retain talent instead of truly supporting when it was most needed. VERY few females in general manager and above roles, but almost ALL females in the office manager roles. Felt like a good ol' boy mentality from the start of my journey with them. It's a shame, because with the right people and leaders, and with actual support, this could be an AMAZING place to work and contribute to society in a feel good way.
