Conduent is the same old Xerox, just with a different name

Pros

The people I worked with are great. Opportunity to work from home. I can't say anything else good about the company.

Cons

No raises for years (while we were Xerox/HP); the company name and CEO have changed, but other than that, it's the same old thing. No budget to replace outdated equipment, no talk of raises now that it's a new company. 24 administrative staff, many of whom had been with the company for years, laid off in one day, with absolutely no warning. The new CEO apparently thinks he's God...has a "security" guy following him around everywhere he goes. Laid off staff and then hosted a 4-day meeting for senior leadership in Las Vegas. I have nothing good to say. False promises...things were supposed to get better after the split from Xerox, but they got off to a bad start right away. Benefits are awful. There is no work/life balance...it's expected that you will work around the clock if you have to in order to manage your ridiculous workload. People should get out while they can.

Pros

Location is excellent. Free parking.

Cons

Low pay and overtime is the norm. Lay-offs annually have been the norm. After Xerox split Conduent off in Jan. 2017, the stability of the organization is even more questionable. Benefits are just so-so. Insurance coverage not good.

Work too much for little pay

Pros

I work with really great people, always willing to help whenever there is a problem.

Cons

When you get hired on you drop $2 an hour!! You go from making $13 an hour to $11 if you get hired on full time instead of being project based. Which is backwards to me, really. And that's not enough pay for what I have to deal with. I'm a call center agent and I have to talk to 65+ older people all day. They are so rude. I take calls for Humana Pharmacy. You do not get paid enough to deal with those people. And there is way too much mandatory overtime. Last week I was expected to work 50 hours. Not happening. I have a life and 2 kids, there is no way someone can work that much.
