Pros

Really, none other than you would now be working for Chubb.

Cons

Mgmt that has little experience and were allowed to keep those positions through the FFIC and then Chubb transitions and are insecure, arrogant and somewhat incompetent, especially compared to the Fireman's management who were displaced. Chubb continued the tradition by pushing their own mgmt. over the displaced Fireman's Fund talent and expects far too much work - clearly how they have kept expenses low.

Pros

was a great company, a family driven company with decent people and professionals. good training opp and career development opp.

Cons

JF's flat growth and expense control strategy leads the company to a brain drain and morale discouraging. It's getting wrose after it was acquired by ACE, a company making itself bigger through buy..buy .buy ..total different company, great Chubb aura is fading.

Overall A Good Company

Pros

I started at Chubb 5 years ago, right out of college. Chubb has a great name that the company does it best to stand behind. Profit sharing and merit based raises are a definite plus. Prior to the merger, there were a great deal of programs centered on helping employees better themselves for career advancement and broaden their knowledge of the company and insurance in general.

Cons

Depending on your department/manager work life balance is either supported or looked down upon. I had some major health issues during a recent pregnancy. Now that I am back at work, I feel like I am being penalized and singled out because of that. So far, the merger seems to have made the company more information based. Prior to merger, Chubb was more people/employee focused.
