Pros

Everyone is nice, the work is fun. They have rotational development programs for many positions, and encourage employees to take classes on topics that are relevant to their job.

Cons

Peoria is not very exciting, and it is the largest "city" that Caterpillar has a facility in. For people just starting out from college, the lack of things to do could be a problem.

Pros

Caterpillar makes awesome products and pays very well. There is a lot of opportunity to advance your career in various departments and various locations.

Cons

The manufacturing culture is very negative - box-checking, good ol' boy club, passing blame rather than identifying and fixing problems.
