Pros

Good atmosphere and company focus. If you enjoy cars and enjoy working with people, a sales positon at CarMax isn't all that bad. I work here part time as a student and probably couldn't find a better job.

Cons

It has its problems, as every large company will. Sometimes you wonder how some of the senior management was hired. Some are great and in some cases the janitorial staff could manage better.

It used to be fun

Cons

Current LGM and ASM have zero management and people skills, micro manage all the time. Sales managers are lazy, arrogant and they favor certain sales consultant. CarMax is still paying $150.00 commission since the company was started.

Pros

Time off when needed. Inventory is an easy job. People who work there are nice. Hours are not that bad.

Cons

Carmax is an o.k place to work. LGM has to much authority in hiring middle management. Picks friends over more competenet managers.
