Cons

CarMax can benifit from making a career path clear and consistant in every position. There are many positions where ways to advancet are not clearly defined

Pros

Great place to start a career. You can start at the most basic job and work your way up the chain if you work hard. Carmax really cares about what you think of the workplace. Diversity is very important to Carmax and so is happy employees.

Cons

Retail hours are not for everyone, especially if you have a family. I wouldn't recommend working there If you don't like working outside in the weather (hot, cold, rain, sleet, snow).

Pros

Good atmosphere and company focus. If you enjoy cars and enjoy working with people, a sales positon at CarMax isn't all that bad. I work here part time as a student and probably couldn't find a better job.

Cons

It has its problems, as every large company will. Sometimes you wonder how some of the senior management was hired. Some are great and in some cases the janitorial staff could manage better.
