      Good work/life balance but undefined career path

      Pros

      Excellent work/life balance. for a consulting organization it offers far more vacation time and fewer hours per week than most other consulting groups. management in certain business units is excellent and they listen to the people in that group.

      Cons

      still very fragmented. business units competing against each other makes it difficult to share resources between groups. Despite adding an additional Title, there is still no defined career path. This is disappointing to younger employees who need a "ladder" to aspire towards. Review process is largely ignored or given the backseat to client/project obligations. This does show dedication to the client but management should definitely show that their employees are important too.

      Certain Groups are very good to work in CGI but some of others really bad.

      Good Benefits, and pay package.

      Cons

      - Promotions based solely on nepotism. - You need to kiss your manager's a** to get good review rating etc. - Inability to advance in your career - Annual raises well below inflation rate - Lack of input into your assignments

      Lots of Bureaucracy but experience depends on team within the company

      - Overtime is paid (significant boost to yearly salary) - Working from home is permitted - Good company for resume

      Cons

      - Bureaucracy - Heavy processes make software development prohibitively expensive - Difficult to grow professionally since technical competency from colleagues is not consistent. Too many unqualified developers.
