Pros

The financial industry knows that Bloomberg only hires good people. I've got a co worker who was turned down multiple times by Bloomberg, and eventually accepted by Goldman. Good salary, average bonus, good fringe benefits like organic snacks.

Cons

Nasty culture, company tolerates and promotes work place jerks. Go read Bloomberg by Bloomberg. The founder enjoys throwing bunch of people into a pool, and watch them kill each other, and survivors get promoted.

good learning curve and environment. good people and free food. lots of good technology and technology people. good place to start career.

Cons

the company doens't really provide career progression. some of the teams that work there are heavily focussed on data entry/management
