Pros

Great benefits, good support from management, not as demanding as other Wall Street peers. Good experience in credit and leveraged finance.

Cons

Compensation way behind the curve, not as opportunistic as other shops. Campus recruiting has gotten better.

Pros

The benefits are excellent, especially the 3 weeks vacation to start, plus all the bank holidays. The pay is competitive. International co-workers made it a stimulating place to work.

Cons

Advancement heavily dependent on one's immediate manager. If one's immediate manager was stalled in his career or not highly thought of, it is difficult for those under him to advance. Since it is a French company, assignments in the United States seemed to be a perk for the better French employees, or a sort of dumping ground for the less competent French employees. Understandable, since the United States is not a large market for them.
