Pros

The company has strong values and makes sure to transmit them to staff. There is a big ongoing investment in efficiency and decentralization which have been historical obstacles on the ability to take decisions quickly. Finally, the global footprint allows for cross-border deals and also career opportunities.

Cons

Very hierarchical and there is still plenty of red tape. The compensation / bonus is not up there with other investment banks.

Pros

Not a hiring firing bank, and has good corporate values. The hours and reasonable 8-9 and the people are very nice.

Cons

lack of career development and petty internal politics. For some employees the work is boring and the pay is low. The current period is seeing good people leave because of middle management bad decisions and then replaced with contractors.

Pros

Good vacation package. Good place to learn. Smart people in derivatives space.

Cons

Not a great platform to work for. Very dysfunctional office. Management attitude is divide and conquer. I would recommend working for BNP Paribas but simply outside of the US. If you are not French it remains difficult to grow within the company.
