Pros

Competitive salary and good benefits

Cons

Customer Care goals and workload are unrealistic. The workload is unmanageable and the pressure and stress are unbearable. We talk to our managers about work load and nothing changes. A number of us work way more than 40 hours a week, both exempt and nonexempt. It’s the only way to keep our heads above water. There is no work life balance. Senior management and managers think the solution to workload is time management and calling on team members for help. It seems that if they ask you if you need any assistance from them that they have done their part. When we do speak up nothing changes. I have to wonder if our managers aren’t feeling the same pressure from senior management. Until senior management changes nothing else can change. At this point I’m personality afraid of retaliation. I would go to HR but I don’t believe it would change anything. I would call the compliance hot line, but I’m afraid I would have to divulge to much and give away my identity. BASF is a great company and the message from the company as a whole is that BASF is a diverse company and that they care about people. I believe this is true in some areas but definitely not in customer care. Something needs to change!

Pros

The benefits packages is amazing. The pay ranges from good to amazing. Even in hard times they pay bonuses!

Cons

Gossip culture reigns supreme in the Bible belt. If you're single or Progressively inclined in any way, you we're warned! Keep your head down and make allies!

Pros

Lots of projects to work on, providing many opportunities for growth (if you can navigate the system). Few established processes in some business, so much room to make something new, in addition t the many process improvements always happening. Decent benefits, but salary and bonuses not keeping up with other offers. Good opportunity for travel due to global nature of the business.

Cons

Work expectations can be extreme, and unmanageable at time. Projects are ambiguous without clear process or decision makers, so everything moves so slow. Toxic culture permeates; poor treatment of women persists. Questionable hiring practices. Senior leaders often don't understand the business they have to run, and don't trust the teams doing the work for many years. More time spent writing strategy iterations than spent on executing strategy and doing the work. When projects fail, scapegoats are identified early and aggressively blamed.
