Pros

Good people, good values, providing a real, tangible, beneficial service to society in general and to our customers. With our new CEO and upgraded board members, we're seeing a massive over-haul of strategy, focus on customers, investors, people and a clear understanding of the direction of travel in line with techno-societal developments.

Cons

There remains a significant amount of old-boy politics where people have risen to positions within the company without either the necessary knowledge and talent or the capability to serve the role through gravitas and industry peer recognition. These people remain responsible for the lack of investment in staff development and hence operational inefficiencies.

Pros

- Great location of offices - Hardworking, astute members of staff - Massive company with many aspects to the business - Decent opportunities for promotion - A bit of a social scene once you track it down

Cons

- A bit of a lifeless atmosphere in the office once everyone has their heads down. But I suppose that is inherent within such an industry.

Poor promotion opportunities, undemocratic culture

Pros

Training was good at the outset, although this didn't last. Expectations were high and there was a sense of satisfaction from a job well done, although this frequently didn't translate into recognition from above.

Cons

Mediocre salary package, poor pension provision; promotion was for the favoured few, who very often were not the people actually delivering value for the business. Bosses changed frequently as people jockeyed for position, which led to a lack of continuity.
