Pros

Job itself was good for experience and the training was decent.

Cons

Brutal form of management. Unable to book any holidays unless you were friends with a manager. Zero prospect of promotion unless you are related to a manager. Expect to be doing every single job other than the one you were employed to do.

Pros

I was lucky to find the best manager that I could have asked for. Good place to work if you dont fancy doing any work, simply having babies and starting a family - good mat leave package.

Cons

Paying for y our own expenses out of your pocket, regardless of how much it costs. Poor management. No people/talent development. Ancient processes. 300 years of history - still dealing with past mistakes and bad decision making. under paid against the rest of the market - you can earn more working for charity. No strategy or direction.

Pros

Fantastic Work-Life Balance, encouraging flexible working and mobile work practises. Has lots of potential for positive change and efficiencies. Good flexible benefits package.

Cons

At the Aviva Group Centre there is such a poor handle on HR and talent management issues. In three years I had 10 line managers, and not once did a HR representative email or talk to me about these changes. The 6 monthly appraisal system is completely flawed and is just a tick in the box exercise. Talent Management practises strangely only are available from 'Head of' and above, which to me is completely backwards. Recent mass redundancies made it openly apparent that the organisation is extremely politically motivated and senior management therefore are hard to trust.
