      My experience with Avanade has provided me with a rich experience with different Microsoft technologies and industries.

      Pros

      - Work with a lot of smart and talented people. - Get access to an msdn subscription and have full access to Microsoft software. - Possibility of traveling all over the United States to work on different projects with different clients. - A lot of free training opportunities to learn about Microsoft technologies and earn certifications. - If on a traveling project, work from home on Fridays.

      Cons

      - Expected 80% travel. - Possibly working long hours (50 - 70 hours per week). - High risk job environment if there are no available projects to staff you on. - Not as much interaction with co-workers from your area. Difficult to build the sense of community and culture among peers with the constant travel.

      - Training provided for all employees - Tools needed for the consultants to perfom at their best - Network with smart people within company

      Cons

      - Management really needs to cut of their favorites during the promotion process. Some of the employees are busting their butts off and getting no recognition within the company.

      Founding organizations (Accenture, Microsoft) have great brand recognition Work is challenging Reputation within firm is the currency you will trade on throughout your career People are great Strong infrastructure practice

      Cons

      Difficult getting to market since the Avanade brand is unknown to majority of market Corp mktg is not aligned with local markets Viewed as execution arm for projects rather than thought leaders High consulting rates make the value proposition difficult for clients justify Offshore capabilities can be difficult to leverage
